Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind LLC is a a 50:50 joint venture between Shell New Energies US LLC and EDF-RE Offshore Development, LLC (a subsidiary of EDF Renewables North America). Both companies come with decades of experience developing onshore and offshore wind energy projects across the globe. We have over 100 experts dedicated to delivering the 5+GW Atlantic Shores portfolio, strategically positioned to meet the growing demands of the East Coast markets.
Eric Empey has been influential not only in the rapid growth of DEME Offshore US, LLC, but in the development of the U.S. offshore wind industry. He has overseen U.S. operations for projects such as South Fork Wind and Vineyard Wind – all while keeping the company’s motto “One DEME, One Team” in mind. Under Eric’s guidance, new engineers and professionals are advancing their skills and fostering a passion for renewable energy.
Shafin Khan, the Vice President of External Affairs and Innovation at the UNO Research and Technology Foundation (UNORTF), is building an innovation ecosystem at the Foundation’s research park, The Beach, and revolutionizing The University of New Orleans’ innovation landscape and ethos on campus. With a biomedical engineering and law background, Khan has an impressive track record in fostering entrepreneurial ecosystems and talent management leadership. In his role, Khan is leveraging the resources of the public-private partnership between the Foundation and the University of New Orleans to catalyze collaboration between academia, public agencies, and private companies. His vision includes innovative programming to empower UNO students, graduates, and faculty, inspiring interdisciplinary education and cross-industry collaborations that support the region’s economic development goals and growth. Khan’s past successes in supporting startups and connecting academia with industry make him a highly anticipated aspirant to elevate UNO’s legacy of innovation and entrepreneurship to new heights.
Haugland Group is an energy and civil infrastructure company helping New York establish leadership in the renewable energy industry. Haugland’s comprehensive infrastructure services support offshore wind with land and marine cable installation, substation construction, trucking, and inland marine logistics. Its Tomkins Cove facility on the Hudson River includes tugboats and barges for marine services, making Haugland strategically prepared to advance New York’s green energy initiatives, stimulating regional and local economies through jobs created and businesses sustained.
Ocean Winds North America is a renewable energy company dedicated to harnessing the power of offshore wind resources to advance the global clean energy transition. Their North American operations focus on developing, constructing, and operating offshore wind farms along the east and west Coasts of the United States.
