OFFSHORE WIND LEADERSHIP

The Offshore Wind Leadership award is given to a company or public entity that exhibits outstanding leadership, benefiting industry growth, development, and market maturation. The entities actions exhibit the highest standards of integrity, responsibility, transparency, inclusiveness, cooperation, and coordination among industry peers and external stakeholders in order to advance the offshore wind industry.

Eligibility & Criteria

  • Company or Public Entity
  • Nominee’s background showcases expertise as it relates to this award. Describe any pervious award or recognition received for this achievement.
  • The achievements and leadership undertaken by the company/public entity demonstrate a substantial contribution to the betterment of the offshore wind industry. It also shows innovation, future-thinking impact, and serves as a model for other organizations – even beyond the offshore wind industry—and elevates the industry.
  • Leadership reflects an understanding that innovation and success come through including different perspectives and experiences.


Business Network board members, Awards Committee, and jurors are ineligible to submit for individual awards during their terms of service. Their company is still permitted to submit a nomination, in which case the individual Board member, committee member, or juror will be recused from judging for that category.

Process & Submission Requirements

Application materials must be submitted as a single PDF file via the online portal. Use the Award Nomination Template to create your submission. Each page must include the entry category, project title (as applicable), and page number at the top. Use 12-point Times New Roman font, single space. The Award Application submission should include: 

  • Title page: Include the name (individual/company/organization), project name, and project location (as applicable).
  • Nomination Overview: Include the Nominated Name (individual/company/organization); Nominating Name (if different entity); Submitting Individual/s name, email; Nominated Point of Contact/s name, email; Short Description (75 words or less).
    NOTE: This description will provide the basis for all publicity for the nomination.
  • Executive Summary (max 500 words): A brief overview of the project. Explain all factors that exhibit the project’s uniqueness and complexity, such as innovative engineering, challenges faced, and overall social impact.
  • Description (min 300 words | max 2,000 words): Address the criteria for the category you are entering. Describe why this project is worthy of special recognition. Entrants may use text, photos, graphics, organizational charts as needed.
  • Overview (do not exceed 5 pages): Showcase organizational information, project description/approach (including problem solved, if applicable), implementation strategy, results and outcomes, as well as outlines key participants/team members, owner/client (if applicable), and images. 
  • Images: High resolution headshot or group photo and company logo (300 dpi). All applicants will be judged solely on their submitted materials.
  • Letter of Reference (max 500 words): A letter from the Client/Owner addressed to Ventus Awards Committee describing the relationship of the client/owner and entrant in the development of the project (note: can be the same entity), the project in use, and how the entrant’s contribution solve the client/owner’s needs.


All applicants will be judged solely on their submitted materials.
