The Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters (EASRCC) represents more than 43,000 of the best-trained carpenters who live and work in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia. The EAS Regional Council of Carpenters is being recognized for their advancement of the public sector supply chain through their cutting-edge training facilities.
EASRCC Carpenters are trained in many different trades, including commercial/residential carpentry, heavy highway construction, offshore wind construction, pile driving, commercial diving, floor-laying, mill cabinet work, millwrighting, and tradeshow construction. The union operates 18 training centers throughout the region.
Within the last year, the EASRCC formed the Eastern Atlantic States Carpenters Technical College (EASCTC). The EASCTC provides students with state-of-the-art training programs that employ the most current trends in educational technology. In anticipation of work created in the renewable energy sectors by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the EASRCC made two significant moves to ensure they were ready to meet the specific workforce demands of the offshore wind market. They expanded an existing facility in Hammonton, NJ, to include a 13-acre lot where members will receive real-world training in heavy construction, vertical concrete formwork, and pile driving. They are also working to secure a wind turbine and nacelle for use in training millwrights on installation and maintenance. In addition to the expansion of the Hammonton facility, the EASRCC purchased a former dive center in NJ, the first union-owned and operated dive school in the country, to round out workers’ offshore wind skillsets.
