Matthew Palmer, president at Wood Thilsted, is an offshore wind trailblazer for his numerous “firsts” in the offshore wind industry. Matt has started several businesses, and been involved in standards development, training, advising, and mentoring. He has advanced regulatory processes, projects, careers, and technological innovations.
Matt Palmer was one of the founders and Executive Director of Clean Power Now, the first organization in the U.S. to focus solely on offshore wind development. Working with the other founders, he grew the organization to a membership of over 5,000 in less than three years. He developed the first FDR/FIR for an offshore wind project in the U.S., and also brought together the team that designed foundations for the first commercial project in the U.S., Vineyard Wind. Matt created the U.S. branch of Wood Thilsted and immediately won contracts with US Wind, Avangrid, and other clients, propelling projects forward in Massachusetts and Maryland.
