Biography

Workshop: Solutions for the Future: How Policy Can Support the Development of Meshed Grids

Ron Schoff is the Director for Research and Development of Enabling Technologies, Asset Management, and Renewable Generation at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). Mr. Schoff’s technical research focus areas include but are not limited to electric sector technologies for wind, solar, hydropower and other renewable energy technologies as well as process control systems, operational technologies, sensors, monitoring, data analytics, digital transformation, and cybersecurity.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Schoff led EPRI’s Technology Innovation program which focuses on thought leadership scouting emerging technologies through engagement with universities, technology incubators and startups; and collaborative, early-stage research. Mr. Schoff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Science degree in chemical engineering from Villanova University. He has published numerous papers and given presentations at technical conferences worldwide.
