Workshop: Engaging West Coast Fisheries Stakeholders to Ensure Floating Offshore Wind Success

Shannon Souza (P.E. C.W.R.E.) owns Sol Coast Companies, a sustainability consulting and contacting organization that supports strategic growth, responsible development, and sustainable living. The company has been based in Coos Bay Oregon since 1999.

She is also the co-founder of Oregon Coast Energy Alliance Network (OCEAN). OCEAN is a southern Oregon community-based volunteer organization with the initial mission to explore the opportunities and challenges of floating offshore wind energy as well as support the responsible development of advanced energy technology for the benefit of the planet, the people, and the coastal communities of Oregon, now and for generations to come.

Shannon was Policy Director for Pacific Ocean Energy Trust, served for four years as Oregon Solar and Storage Industry Association’s Policy Chair, and was a representative of the Professional Engineers of Oregon on Governor Brown’s Resilience Mitigation Advisory Council. Oregon’s 2019 Engineer of the Year, Shannon holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University. Shannon is a professional engineer and water right examiner with the state of Oregon, her practice has included Low Impact Development, habitat restoration, public water supply planning and expansion, industrial waste minimization, and net zero building design.
