Kathleen joined the Network in 2023 as its West Coast Regional Communications Director. In this role, she works with developers and policy leaders, Tribal Nations, media, and supporters to support the development of the west coast floating offshore wind industry and its supply chain through education and workforce development.
Kathleen has spent more than a decade as a social entrepreneur in communications and marketing sustainability in fashion, music events, and sports, from launching the first sustainability programs for tours such as the Vans Warped Tour, to policy and advocacy as a certified Climate Reality Leader trained by former Vice President Al Gore. Later, she became the first director of communications and marketing for NY Offshore Wind Alliance, where she curated and executed strategic communications and media campaigns within the unprecedented growth of offshore wind for New York.
Kathleen received an undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University, located on the New York-Canada border, where she enjoyed Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid and its African exchange program. During university she visited Kenya and Tanzania, helping her fluency in Swahili. However, as a professed guardian of the planet, Kathleen later completed the 2-year sustainability certification at UCLA.
Following college, Kathleen moved to Southern California where she worked for Powder Magazine on its newly launched Snowboarder magazine where she traveled the world’s mountains riding with the most talented riders and photographers. Today, she can be found continuing to pursue snowboarding and photography as hobbies. She also plays the piano and trombone.
