POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Network for Offshore Wind (the Network) is hiring a Chief of Staff (COS). The primary purpose of this position is to make time management, information, and decision-making more effective for the President/CEO. The COS will strategically oversee the President/CEO’s calendar and work with administrative staff in the Executive Office to maximize meeting effectiveness with appropriate preparation, realistic objectives, and clear action items. This may involve querying and working with stakeholders, guiding others in their preparation for their interactions with the President/CEO, preparing agendas or briefing materials, and monitoring the progress and achievement of action items.
The COS will shadow the President/CEO and assist her daily. This position requires the ability to work long hours and be available at nights and weekends as well as travel frequently. The ideal candidate possesses solid project management skills, is well-organized, shows attention to detail, can work well under pressure, and follows up relentlessly to ensure the right results. The ideal candidate should have a government affairs background and demonstrate an interest in clean energy. This position will require you to work in the Network’s Baltimore MD office with the President & CEO daily.
POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Relationships and Time Management
- Act as the President/ CEO’s “right-hand” person and as a “barometer” having a sense for the issues taking place in the environment and keeping the President/CEO updated. Anticipate her needs in advance of meetings, conferences, etc.
- Provides a “gatekeeper” role, providing a bridge for smooth communication between CEO and staff
- Accompany the President/ CEO to meetings, oversee meeting prep, and track meeting takeaways and next steps.
- Ensure the President/ CEO is organized, informed, prepared, and responsive by supporting her with background research, briefing memos, talking points, and the preparation of presentations,
- Oversees & manages the Presidents/CEO’s internal facing email account; distributes email to staff for follow-up flag email of importance to President/CEO
- Write draft communications for review, including messages from the President/CEO to the all-team, support grant writing projects, and collaborate with communications on press releases, thought leadership, and other written communication
- Assume day-to-day responsibility for assigned projects and tasks
- Track President/CEO workflow and priorities through strategic handling of incoming requests following up on various tasks to ensure deadlines are being met,
- Develop and track a daily to-do list to help triage priorities for the next day
- Be responsive to emails/texts/phone calls, with contact outside normal business hours
- Conserve President/CEO’s time by reading, researching, collecting, and analyzing information as needed, in advance
- Update Salesforce with leads and contacts that help actively pursue business development efforts for all Network programs, services, products, and events.
Public Profile/Speaking Engagements
- Oversees the President/CEO’s local, national, and international speaking schedule
- Lead bi-monthly meetings with members of senior staff on internal and external speaking engagements to determine where to leverage the President/CEO’s voice and brand
- Coordinate communication strategies to build the President/CEO’s public profile (blogs, twitter)
- Ensure President/CEO is prepared for speaking engagements and work with the policy team to develop presentations and talking points
- Collaborates with Network staff in coordinating the President/CEO’s outreach activities.
- Follow up on contacts made by the CEO to cultivate ongoing relationships.

Calendar & Travel Management
- Manage the President/CEO’s calendar and provide her with a daily briefing every morning to ensure she understands her responsibilities for the day and prepare her with a detailed agenda
- Provide a nightly packet of materials needed for the next day’s meetings
- Work effectively with the President/CEO to keep her well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, anticipating current and future issues and challenges while following up appropriately.
- Coordinate travel with Senior Support Assistant and ensure President/CEO arrives to scheduled events, brief her prior to meetings and communicate follow-up tasks to Senior Staff
- Review logistics memos for all trips (prepared by Assistant)
- Draft letters, emails, reports, and other correspondence on behalf of President/CEO
Staff Management
- Act as the communication arm for the President/CEO with other executives in the organization, staff, clients, or major stakeholders, ensuring outcomes and action steps are clearly communicated and projects stay on track
- Complete projects by assigning work to appropriate staff, including the Executive Team, on behalf of the President/CEO
- Using the project management tool (Asana) document and communicating decisions and action items from meetings and ensure follow-up and closure of action items
- Receive staff updates and communicate status reports on all projects and programs to the President/CEO; identify issues that may impact projects and provide proactive solutions to ensure projects are completed successfully
- Tracks Executive Office team action items, meeting notes, and files.
- Schedules President/CEO’s policy briefings from all working group meetings and regular updates from different program areas
- Build and run cadence for leadership meetings, board meetings, and leadership offsites, including structuring and helping to deliver company-wide communication
Board of Director Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between the board and CEO
- Working with the President/CEO and senior leadership to compile the Board of Director’s meeting packet on a quarterly basis including setting production timelines and managing the development, compilation, and distribution of agenda and presentation materials
- Record meeting minutes on behalf of the Board Secretary and draft official meetings notes maintain a record of notes and follow-up items
- Maintains discretion and confidentiality in relationships with all board of directors
- Adhere to compliance with applicable rules and regulations set in bylaws regarding board and board committee members, including advance distribution of materials before meetings in electronic/paper format
- Assist with onboarding new Board Members and with offboarding departing Members

Reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Communications, the Network Designer is responsible for translating policy, program and research into understandable communications to raise awareness about the offshore wind industry and support the advocacy of the industry.
This position requires experience in creative design, graphics and publications design, program and/or project management, stakeholder engagement, and/or customer service. Attention to detail as well as clear, concise communication is critical to the success of this role.

- Responsible for grant and contract submission process
- Assist with grant writing by working with appropriate staff to develop project description, statement of work; staffing plan, budget, and budget justifications
- Review terms and conditions of contracts, i.e., intellectual property, termination, conflicts with state or federal law, and accounting procedures; attend pre-bidder conferences, review grant Q&A
- Maintain grant submission files (organizational chart, audit documents, staff bios, etc. )
- Submit grant or contract package on time
- Responsible for all components of post-award grant/contract compliance and performance monitoring and support, including compliance, and reporting

Industry Trainer
REPORTS TO: Director of Industry Education and Training

Bringing together top developers, global experts, and member businesses, the Network has become the leading convener and thought leader for the offshore wind (OSW) community. The Network’s events, programs, products, and services have become the critical industry resources needed to inspire, inform, and influence business decision-making and unprecedented networking and relationship/partnership opportunities across the OSW community. The Network has launched three industry trainings: OSW 101, OSW Ready and Foundation 2 Blade.
About the Position:
The Business Network for Offshore Wind (the Network) is hiring a trainer to support the Network’s growth and evolution of its Industry Training programs, projects, products, and services. This position will report to the Director of Industry Education and is required to participate in, and give, Foundation 2 Blade, OSW Ready, and OSW 101 deliveries. The ideal candidate has experience in communicating with a broad range of stakeholders on technical subjects. You will assist in the development of technical training programs and help others develop important professional skills. Additionally, this individual must be an excellent communicator, and have the abililtiy to explain complex subjects in a clear and interesting way. The individual must be passionate about offshore wind, conveying information and knowledge, finding opportunities, and helping companies make connections.
Position Functions and Responsibilities:

About the Position:
The primary role of the Senior Project Manager (PM) will be to lead all coordination and planning efforts regarding the IPF. The PM will report directly to the Vice President of Event Planning for the International Offshore Wind Partnering Forum (IPF). In executing the responsibilities of the position, the PM will create a sustainable infrastructure for communication and verification for staff and conference vendors. The PM will oversee the organization, scheduling, cost, and execution of all IPF planning and reporting. The PM will interface with internal and external stakeholders individually and in groups as necessary to complete relevant tasks. The PM will perform on-going analysis of the project throughout its lifecycle, communicate variance, and adapt scope to ensure project teams and vendors meet key milestones. Project performance will be reported to executive stakeholders on a regular cadence.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
Implements the IPF Strategic Management Plan (VIP outreach, speakers and program content, marketing-digital and print, outreach, event planning including conference and all side events, graphic design, international delegations, sales, surveys and follow up) and holds internal and external staff accountable for meeting deadlines, responsible for execution of multiple teams and tasks
• Utilizes Asana for project tracking and team transparency as well as accountability
• Establish and maintain processes to manage the entire IPF project scope over the project lifecycle, including maintaining brand standards and established project quality and performance standards,
• Structure and manage integrated, multi-track project performance databases for multiple digital, print, social, ensuring messaging is up to date and integrated across all platforms
• Develop and maintain partnerships with outside resources—including third-party vendors
• Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximize deliverable outputs
• Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed— escalating issues as necessary based on project work plans
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 7+ years project management experience
• Hands-on experience with developing web technologies and software platforms for maximum usability
• Proven success working with all levels of management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Professional certification, PMP preferred

About the Position:
The Business Network for Offshore Wind (the Network) is hiring a trainer to support the Network’s growth and evolution of its Industry Training programs, projects, products, and services. This position The Business Network for Offshore Wind (the Network) is hiring for a Vice President for Electricity & Transmission to oversee the Network’s growth and evolution of offshore wind transmission and interconnection policy and regulatory engagement at the federal, state, and local levels. Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Policy and Programs, this role is responsible for designing, developing, and coordinating the Network’s policy strategy and planning, as well as related regulatory engagement duties including projects, research, writing, and activities. This position requires experience in electricity markets as well as non-governmental entities and regulatory bodies that influence transmission planning and the related policy landscape. An understanding of renewable energy and the offshore wind industry at senior management and organizational levels is ideal. The professional in this role must be aware of, and consistently monitor industry-related electricity market, grid, and transmission activities and establish/cultivate stakeholder relationships in offshore wind and adjacent industries. One of the objectives of this position is to determine, define, and execute upon appropriate policy/regulatory engagement strategy, up and coming initiatives in the industry, and help keep Network members up to date on relevant developments at the local, state, federal, and international levels. This Vice President role will be responsible to manage critical resources of the Network including strategic planning effectively and efficiently; human capital; funding and budgets; internal and external relationships; organizational culture, evaluation, and learning; and team management and performance.
Position Functions and Responsibilities:
Policy Development & Regulatory Engagement
• Elevate the profile of offshore wind in the U.S. energy policy conversation at the federal, state, and local levels to solidify the technology’s role as an indispensable component of the clean energy transition
• Serve as a regulatory, policy, and technical advisor regarding electricity markets, state government, federal government, and grid operator policy and developments regarding transmission to Network members and staff
• Responsible for designing, developing, and executing the Network’s policy and regulatory engagement strategies, primarily focused on electricity markets, onshore grid operators (PJM, NYISO, ISO-NE, CAISO, MISO, vertically integrated electricity markets) and offshore transmission market players and adjacent entities
• Work to educate state public commissions, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and other regulators on offshore wind interconnection issues and adoption of best practices
• Inform state level offshore wind state level strategy through convening and other educational activities
• Interact with domestic and international offshore wind experts, professionals, federal and state regulators, government representatives, and other stakeholders
• Represent the United States offshore wind industry and liaise/engage with the international offshore wind industry
• Lead the Network’s Transmission Working Group including quarterly meetings
• Lead development of the Network Grid and Transmission Conference
• Represent the Network on federal and state grid and transmission working groups
• Develop and write regulatory comments, thought leader papers
• Testify and speak at regulatory conferences, meetings, and hearings
• Coordinate outside counsel and expert consultants as needed
Member Services & Programs:
• Work closely with Member Services, Policy, Programs, and Events to develop a deep understanding of Network issues and challenges regarding OSW policy, create opportunities for stakeholders to engage with Network programs, projects, and activities as well as work alongside Network members to grow and evolve the OSW industry
• Guide and support programs, projects, and working groups to advance Network services and products to members and community stakeholders
Business and Research Development:
• Actively pursue business development efforts for all Network programs, projects, services, products, and events
• Identify viable opportunities to grow and evolve existing products/services to new and existing regional, state, and local markets, and/or launch new products/services
• Build the Network’s industry visibility, reputation, and brand including contributing to thought leadership, influencing decision and opinion makers, representing the Network at conferences and events, and writing/developing OSW industry white papers and research
Leadership & Management:
• Help create opportunities for Network stakeholders to develop their leadership styles, emotional intelligence, and professional skills
• Help design, align, prioritize, and operationalize organizational tactics, goals
• Help staff incorporate organizational ecosystem-wide infrastructure (business systems,
management, leadership, culture) elements and opportunities in planning,
implementation, evaluation, and learning
• Manage and escalate employee relations challenges; monitor and track employee
performance; provide regular, helpful, and actionable feedback to direct reports
Education & Experience:
• Graduate degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field (electrical/power systems engineering, offshore wind, non-profit management, economics, energy, law, political science)
• At least 10 years of professional experience with steadily increasing job responsibilities Experience in renewable energy, regulatory environments, and government affairs/relations strongly preferred
• Ability to acquire new business development and retain membership with effective relationship management
• Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment and balance responding to immediate opportunities while maintaining a strategic, long-term perspective
• Proven written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated desire and ability to interact with other domestic and international OSW experts, professionals, and regulators
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team as well as manage staff and delegate, monitor, and evaluate team and individual work activities and performance effectively
• Ability to navigate volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity as the OSW industry continues to develop and mature
• Ability and demonstrated history of success with fully remote work arrangement. This position is non- location specific, eligible for full-time remote working arrangements, and a candidate with flexibility to work/reside on either or both Atlantic and Pacific coasts is preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President for Industry Education and Training is responsible for leading the development and execution of an education strategy that educates businesses and individuals to build out the U.S. offshore wind industry supply chain. This position is responsible for managing the Network’s current training offerings, building new trainings and comprehensive curriculum that enhances the Network brand, and implementing a revenue-generating model to sustain the curriculum over time.
This position works collaboratively with other senior team members to assess member needs, program viability, and development of successful programmatic content including agendas and speakers for Network educational and training events held throughout the year. This position requires consistently monitoring activities in the Offshore Wind industry to determine appropriate program content trends and initiatives in the industry and keep our members up to date on current initiatives. They interact regularly with members and customers and instill excellent member relations skills in all members of the training team.
POSITION FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, lead, and execute an education strategy that supports the Network’s strategies to educate the U.S. offshore wind industry and to advance the acceptance of industry standards
- Responsible for the design and implementation of new professional training/certification programs offered though specialized courses or workshops
- Manage the accreditation process of the Network’s current trainings and programs, develop and implement new continuing education unit (C.E.U.) offerings,
- Working with the VP of Technology, identify, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Learning Management System (LMS)
- Manage the development and annual updating of the Business Networks Foundation 2 Blade textbook and course materials
- Work with executive leadership to orchestrate annual training schedule and develop annual departmental budget; monitors performance against budget and assures course correction as needed
- Work with staff to identify and incorporate programmatic content from Network digital and in person events, into the development and delivery of trainings
- Identify industry content leaders to enhance programs and trainings
- Utilizes data-driven strategy and business analytics, ensure participant needs and revenue goals are met or exceeded and that the learning experiences are of high quality delivering on the Network’s brand promise
- Develops relationships with other associations and organizations to build alliances and create joint cooperative educational programs
- Manage NREL Offshore Wind Standards contract to ensure integration into Network training offerings
- Collaborate with the Marketing/Communications Department to promote training programs
- Write grants and proposal as required
- Build out and manage the Training and Education Team including expert consultants and vendors
- Standardizes operations and procedures
- Responsible for training internal staff on industry topics
- Manage the intern and fellow programs; develop programmatic content to enhance their experience and lead to professional growth
- Update Salesforce with leads and contacts that help actively pursue business development efforts for all Network programs, projects, services, products, and events.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BS degree in Education (STEM), Communication, Training, Environmental Science or related field; experience in offshore wind a plus, an interest in offshore wind a must
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) preferred
- Minimum 7 years of work experience in employee training, and 3 years of work experience as Training Facilitator Administrator or similar role; Experience in foundations, nonprofits, or the public sector, highly desirable
- Minimum 5 years staff management experience; highly accountable for own and direct report actions
