Workshop: Modern Manufacturing: Using New Technologies to Reduce Offshore Wind Construction Costs
Tom McGaughy has over thirty-five years of experience in technical, business development and managerial roles, having joined EWI in 1987 shortly after earning a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has specialized in experimental fracture mechanics, materials property assessment and weldability characterization, integrity assessment and materials evaluation, with most of his work focused on the oil and gas, power generation and heavy fabrication industries. He has authored more than fifty-five papers and conference presentations on residual stress, fatigue and fracture properties of structural steels and welds. He has presented at numerous major conferences and has organized seminars and workshops on residual stress, fatigue and fracture toughness characterization techniques.
