Biography

Workshop: Modernizing Station-keeping Design for Floating Offshore Wind Turbines

Tom Fulton is the Head of Renewables & Mooring Development for Acteon. With over thirty-five years’ experience in the design, provision, installation, inspection and maintenance of mooring systems, as well as general marine operations, Tom is a technical authority in the mooring of floating offshore renewables. He has been involved with over twenty studies related to floating renewables over the past two years. In the course of his career, Tom has been extensively involved with research, development and implementation of new mooring technology, especially with novel anchor systems, connectors and synthetic rope. He has been listed on six patents and has patents pending. Tom is regularly asked to speak at conferences covering floating offshore wind and has presented and been on conference panels four times in 2022. He has also been on the Board of the Floating Wind Solutions Conference since its inaugural year. Tom Fulton graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Ocean Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1987. He is a registered Professional Engineer.
