Workshop: Modern Manufacturing: Using New Technologies to Reduce Offshore Wind Construction Costs

Patrick Boster is the lead of Stress Engineering Services’ Plant Services Practice, Additive Manufacturing Group and is the SES Welding Engineer SME. Before joining SES, Mr. Boster was the president of Weld Tech-Engineering. It was later acquired by titanium company RMI(RTI) and he became president of the energy division, RTI Energy Systems. His company designed, built, and qualified equipment made of traditional materials used in the energy market. It was successful with the integration of titanium product designs in offshore applications, displacing traditional materials with something new and innovative.

Prior to RTI, Patrick worked for Combustion Engineering and its subsidiary Vetco Gray. Through his career, Patrick has gained over forty years’ experience in engineering, qualification testing, manufacturing and new product applications. He holds a B.S. in welding engineering from The Ohio State University, is a registered Professional Engineer, and a member of AWS, ASME, AMPP, MaJIC.
