Tour | Central Baltimore: An Offshore Wind Hub

Visit the top businesses and training organizations in central Baltimore working in offshore wind.

Join your offshore wind colleagues for a four-stop tour that highlights central Baltimore businesses and training organizations working in offshore wind. The tour kicks off at Tradepoint Atlantic, a former iron and steel making facility that has been transformed into a new port and global logistics hub that handles offshore wind marine operations. Next, visit the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies (MITAGS) and view a wind farm layout in a full-mission bridge simulated environment aboard a vessel. Tour participants will also receive a tour of the MITAGS facility.

Enjoy a catered lunch at MITAGS and then continue the tour at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). Participants will learn about and meet students in the Baltimore Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JACT) program. End the day at McAllister Towing & Transportation Company. Participants will tour and take a short ride in a McAllister tugboat and learn about their important role in U.S. offshore wind development up and down the East Coast.

Please note that separate registration is required for tours. When you register for 2023 IPF, you will be asked if you would like to add tours to your itinerary.
