Offshore Wind Compliance Recommended Practice (OCRP-1) Training

The first of five guidance documents for Offshore Wind Compliance in the U.S. waters were published in summer 2022. ANSI/ACP OCRP-1 2022 is the overarching document for the Offshore Wind Standards Initiative under the ACP Offshore Wind Subcommittee chaired by NREL. OCRP-1 was written by a broad consensus-based group of over one hundred U.S. industry members. Through careful adherence to the ANSI standards development process, this new guidance can be officially recognized by the regulators and referenced within the U.S. regulatory approval process. The remaining four documents are expected over the next year.

In this session, OCRP-1 co-chairs Rain Byars and Graham Cranston will present the new document, highlighting key provisions and important changes from the previous AWEA OCRP 2012, and how unique considerations for offshore wind projects in US waters were addressed.  The recommended practice aims to address conflicts and gaps between US and European standards, and provide owners, designers, contractors, and third parties clear recommendations for choosing and applying relevant requirements.
