The Business Network for Offshore Wind, the leading non-profit advocate for U.S. offshore wind at the state, federal and global levels, is launching OSW CareerMatch Job Fair, the first ever offshore wind job fair, as part of its International Partnership Forum (IPF). The Job Fair will take place virtually on August 18 and feature top companies, including Dominion Energy, Principal Power, Siemens Gamesa, MHI Vestas and Avangrid.
The Job Fair is designed for individuals looking for their next career move, providing the opportunity to apply for posted jobs and to speak to company recruiters about current job openings and upcoming jobs (in the next 6-12 months). Registration is free to participants, who will have the chance to speak with industry representatives from top companies about positions range from internships, port studies project managers, geophysicists, account managers, naval architects, mechanical engineers and more.
You have seen the news: $400 million New Jersey Port Investment, 2500 MW New York solicitation and port investment (in addition to last year’s 1,700 MW), and the first federal project in the waters off of Virginia. All proof the U.S. offshore wind industry is resilient and growing,” said Liz Burdock, president & CEO of the Business Network for Offshore Wind. “The Network is committed to helping supply chain companies prepare for the future of offshore wind in the U.S. – and that includes growing the workforce. This first-ever national Job Fair will allow companies to connect with skilled individuals who will help grow the U.S. blue economy.”
OSW CareerMatch Job Fair will take place from 8:30 a.m. EST to 1:00 p.m. EST on August 18 as part of IPF. The 2020 IPF successfully transitioned to a summer Livestream Series in April, hosting seven half-day events focused on the latest developments, reports, and projects in the offshore wind industry. Topics ranged from the first Jones Act guidance released in nine years, details on the New York and New Jersey solicitation announcements, the first-ever U.S. SOV, Vineyard SEIS, On Point Interviews with industry CEOs and leaders, details on how the new White House announcement restricting new work visas effects the industry, and Developer Town Halls with Dominion Energy, Vineyard Wind, Atlantic Shores and more. 2020 IPF will officially wrap-up next week, hosting the final two IPF Livestreams: Job & Workforce and Future of U.S. OSW, August 19-20, as well as a virtual Exhibit Hall, Poster Sessions, and more.
If you are a company interested in participating in the Job Fair, sign-up online for a booth by August 16.
