Dear Members,
Maryland Legislation Fails
In an usually quick response the legislation to move the MD OSW projects 26 miles out failed. This bill is now completely dead in the Maryland legislature. While we must always remain vigilant against any policies that would be harmful to OSW, it is time to get to work and build these projects. Thanks for your help and support to move OSW forward.
NYSERDA Updated: OSW Energy Technical Conference – March 8, 2018
The NY Public Service Commission hosted an Offshore Wind Energy Technical Conference meeting last Thursday. NYSERDA representatives presented the New York State OSW Master Plan and the Offshore Wind Policy Options paper – detailing the initial procurement options and associated benefits and cost analysis. The NYSERDA presenters then fielded questions regarding the analysis of transmission costs, ownership barriers, and procurement costs. The NY Department of Public Service (NYDPS) led a stakeholder discussion, presenting questions to define utility, transmission, and procurement with input from valid stakeholders interested in the development of offshore wind off the coast of New York.
