  • Richard Kauffman if the chairman of NYSERDA. He joined the administration of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo as New York State’s first “energy czar” in February 2013. Mr. Kauffman oversaw and managed New York State’s entire energy portfolio, including the New York State Department of Public Service, the New York Power Authority, the Long Island Power Authority, and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). He was appointed chair of NYSERDA’s Board on June 19, 2013.

                    Mr. Kauffman leads New York State’s comprehensive Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) initiative. REV includes regulatory reform to restructure the energy and utility industry, a 10-year commitment to support local renewable energy and efficiency markets through the proposed creation of the Clean Energy Fund, and other initiatives such as NY Green Bank and the $1 billion NY-Sun solar programs.

  • Alicia Barton is president and CEO of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), a public benefit corporation that advances innovative energy solutions to improve New York State’s economy and environment.

                    Ms. Barton has held public and private sector leadership roles advancing clean energy projects and companies for over a decade including serving as co-chair of the Energy and Cleantech Practice at Foley Hoag, LLP, chief of operations of the Global Utility business unit at SunEdison and chief executive officer of the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC), a publicly supported agency that funds and accelerates the development of the clean energy sector. Prior to serving as CEO of MassCEC, Ms. Barton was the Deputy Commissioner for Policy and Planning for the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP); Assistant Secretary for Environmental Review and Director of the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) office; and Deputy General Counsel at the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA).

  • Gil C. Quiniones has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the New York Power Authority (NYPA), the nation's largest state-owned electric utility, since 2011. He is responsible for developing and implementing the statewide utility's strategic vision and mission and for supervising its operations, legal and financial matters and relationships with external stakeholders.

                    Under his leadership, NYPA is currently playing a key role in the Governor's Reforming the Energy Vision initiative to use market forces and new technology to empower customers and encourage the growth of clean renewable energy and energy efficiency.

  • As president and chief executive officer, Mr. Ott oversees the largest power grid in North America and the largest electricity market in the world. Mr. Ott, a 21-year veteran with PJM, became the CEO in October of 2015. He also serves as a PJM Board member.

                    Mr. Ott was responsible for design and implementation of the PJM wholesale electricity markets. He has extensive experience in power system engineering, transmission planning, applied mathematics, electricity market design and implementation. Mr. Ott is internationally recognized as an expert in electricity market design.

                    Mr. Ott serves on the Board of GO 15 which is a voluntary initiative of the world’s 18 largest power grid operators representing more than 70 percent of the world’s electricity demand and providing electricity to 3.4 billion consumers on six continents. He also serves on the Boards of Association of Edison Illuminating Companies and the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia. Mr. Ott is an IEEE Fellow and a CIGRE Honorary member.

  • Ditlev Engel brings a wealth of knowledge of the global energy industry and international leadership competence. From 2005–2013 he had the position of Group President & CEO of global wind turbine manufacturer Vestas. Prior to Vestas, he has 20 years of experience at coatings manufacturer Hempel A/S, of which 10 years as executive leader moving from EVP Marketing and R&D to Group President & CEO. He has degrees in business administration, finance, accounting and general management from Copenhagen Business School and INSEAD.
                    
                    Ditlev Engel has been a driving force behind many global green investment initiatives, pushing the energy transition to the next level. He has been a Member of the Energy Partner Network of the World Economic Forum, Advisor of the International Energy Agency, Chairman Green Growth Working Group at three consecutive G20 Summits, co-founder of the Green Growth Action Allian and Member of UN’s Sustainable Energy for All. In 2008 Ditlev Engel became Leader of the Year in Denmark.

  • Giles Dickson is the Chief Executive Officer of WindEurope (formerly EWEA), the voice of the European wind industry. It represents the entire value chain of wind power: turbine manufacturers, component suppliers, power utilities, project developers, financial institutions and research institutes. As the industry association WindEurope actively promotes wind power in Europe. It engages Governments on policy and regulation that affect wind power and its integration in the energy system. It coordinates research and development for the wind industry in Europe and manages the European Technology Innovation Platform for wind on behalf of the EU Commission. It also organizes industry exhibitions, conferences and technical workshops and serves as a platform for networking across the industry and between the industry and other stakeholders. WindEurope has over 450 members from more than 50 countries and a staff of over 50 based in Brussels. In February 2017 WindEurope was awarded the prize for the Best European Association. Prior to joining WindEurope, Mr. Dickson was Vice President of Global Public Affairs at Alstom. Before that he was a civil servant in the UK Government for over 15 years.

  • As Deputy Director, and currently Acting Director of BOEM, Dr. Cruickshank oversees the administration of programs that manage the development of the Nation’s offshore resources in an environmentally and economically responsible way. These programs include leasing, plan administration, environmental studies, National Environmental Policy Act analysis, resource evaluation, economic analysis and the Renewable Energy Program.
                    
                    Prior to becoming the Deputy Director of BOEM upon its establishment in October 2011, Dr. Cruickshank served as Deputy Director of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE) and the former MMS since 2002. Dr. Cruickshank has worked in the Department of the Interior for more than 30 years. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Geological Sciences from Cornell University and a Doctorate in Mineral Economics from the Pennsylvania State University.
